See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up: do you not perceive it?

NW_APA_2011_19539_153740_ShaynaHartley_Barred_Owl_KKFrom Libby:

The news is all good after clinic today! My new immune system is performing really well. All of my blood work looks great for this stage! I did not need any IV fluids. I am at day + 41! The doctors are saying that if all goes as planned, they will be able to start weaning off of my immunosuppressive drugs leading up to day 100. My body is working overtime so I am still exhausted and have evidence of a small amount of Grafts vs Hosts disease but they are not worried about it. I’m still fighting occasional nausea and a foggy brain at times😜 They have always said that a small amount is actually a good thing.

Lisa was here this weekend and it was amazing to see her. The strong parts of her heart are now compensating for the damaged part! Whoo hoo! God is good! Alex was here too. I walked on the Beltline for the 1st time:) Lisa and Sheri cooked an amazing dinner of penne pasta with sausage and vodka cream sauce, asparagus, garlic spinach, broccoli. I have been encouraged to start gaining my muscle mass back by doing upper body work…even kick boxing and weights classes on the Pelaton. It has been another great day!

Mom has kept the house spic n span and has cooked all kinds of goodies to stock the refrigerator!  I love being outside, enjoying the beautiful spring weather and the birds at the feeders. Doc added more feeders and a special mix of bird food that they love! Lots of bluebirds, cardinals, woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, finches, and tufted titmice! And the biggest surprise is that in addition to fixing and putting together things and organizing things at the house, Doc bought and hung a Barred Owl house in the backyard. He also put a big pile of brush by the feeders that they can use to build their nests! So now the new house joins a couple of bluebird houses and a nuthatch house. I am so hopeful that they will all nest and have babies.

God is good. I am so incredibly grateful for all of you who are lifting me up in prayer and positive thoughts and kind notes of support, the books and cards and Kale Me Crazy gift cards, cozy slippers, throws, calls, beautiful photos, quotes, jokes, texts, Ann Starr’s amazing poems, the hard work going on at SPS, my amazing donor, my amazing family! The list goes on. I have never felt so lifted up spiritually in my life.

“Forget the former things. Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up: do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland!” Isaiah 43:18-19

Hope you get a pair of Barred Owls in your house real soon. They are interesting to watch and I enjoy hearing their hooting, “Who cooks for you? Who cooks for you-all?” They must be southern, ha!
